as an analogy, you have the pages, the 100,000 words, now bind them all together to make your book. also i think i speak for all of us, we'd enjoy anything you produce.
I always felt like if I got a novel published, I’d want to hand-bind a few hardback copies to give to friends and family just to make them extra special.
I enjoyed this piece very much. I have written a novel and I recognize so many of the dilemmas you describe from my own experience. I thought I would mention one idea that helped me immensely. You come close to saying that you meditate, but it seems like that's not quite what you're describing. Maybe I'm misreading. But you might find formal meditation, where you specifically STOP thinking about the book, will clarify and solidify your thinking once your restart. This was my experience and it would be great if it could help you too. Overthinking is suck a common problem and this is one possible way to attack it. But mostly I wanted to say you're a sharp writer! I have not read any other pieces by you and am looking forward to more.
i would like to buy you a beer. is your nunnery near london
South London my friend, let’s link up
Please finish your novel! (No hurry)
"The novel I will create will be the novel I can create." really spoke to me
great stuff; as the Oresteia puts it, we must suffer into truth….
Man learns by suffering. There is a place in men’s hearts where fear is good…
loved this! you’ve captured a lot of my worries about the second draft phase of doom that i’m in right now
